Welcome Adventurer.

Fateless, like most works that stem from creativity and passion started out as an idea. As a kid we all has our own immersive worlds we would venture into. Through these worlds we could become the stuff of legends. Fateless was that for me and a group of friends. The pedantic stresses of highscool life could be left behind while exploring this brilliant world of our own design.

After many evolutions Fateless has become the Unique and Immersive roleplay experience that you see now. The was not a work of the passion one person by no stretch, but the collective efforts of so many wonderful friends and colleagues.

Right now Fateless is a Studio Project focused on bringing all those who play a fully exciting and freeing experience.  Like most other Tabletop Roleplay  Games, Fateless Legacies is intended to be a game that opens the players minds and allows them to be someone they've always wanted to be. We want our players to sit across the table or keyboards from one another and create an epic tale.

If reading this introduction has peaked your interest at all, Please contact us and ask about helping with our playtesting process. We love new players and are always looking for eager new roleplayers to join our team.

Fateless: Legacies is an immersive role-play Experience that allows players to Explore and interact with a world of adventure, chaos, and wonders. Create and shape an interactive story with a group of 3 or more friends. Each player can mold the story and spin a glorious epic. You can follow the rules provided to help streamline the narrative and add structure to the ever-growing story. These rules are designed to be loose guidelines, not strict dictations. Drama and story should always be favored over the written rules.

Roles: Fateless: Legacies has a few roles the players must decide on before playing. This is a role-playing game, meaning each involved role is expected to interact with the world and environments provided. Think of the table as the theater and the other players as the performers.

  • Narrator: Only one player will pick the role of the Narrator. The Narrator is tasked with telling the story and setting the theme of the game.  They must also play as the environment, all the NPCs (or non-player characters), as well as the enemies and allies of the Players. It is also the Narrator’s task to keep the flow of the story and ensure that all the players are enjoying their share of the spotlight. The Narrator may use Alyria, the setting provided or create their own setting for the other players to Explore and enjoy.

  • Protagonist: Any number of players may select this role, although the ideal number of players are between 3-5. The Protagonist’s objective should be to Explore and interact with the setting provided by the Narrator. Upon selecting the Protagonist as your role, you must create your character by choosing your Species and Legacy. The Protagonist can speak with NPCs, embark on quests, Explore the surroundings, investigate local rumors, earn gem shards, find treasure, and so much more. The world is as limitless as your collective imaginations.

  • Audience: The audience is anyone viewing the game but is not an active player. The audience does not interact with the setting, and therefore is not required to make as large of a commitment.

Setting: The setting is anything and everything in the world that the players can interact with. The setting should be moldable and able to be adjusted as the players alter the plot. Meaning, if an NPC was going to warn a village of a disastrous storm and the players stopped the NPC from doing so, then what would be the result? Would the village be unprepared for the tempest? Would there be casualties?

Checks: Fateless: Legacies utilizes a system of rolling dice to help dictate the outcome of the decisions made in the game. The Narrator will call for the players to make certain “Checks”. Checks are any attempts made in the game that require a dice roll to get a result. The Narrator will specify what skill or stat based modifiers will be used in the Check. You will roll a d10 and add appropriate skill(s) and/or stat(s) to the dice roll. This is called a Skill Check. Depending on the outcome of the dice roll, the Narrator will compare the outcome with the Check Goal. If the Skill check meets or exceeds the Check Goal, then the check was a success. If the Check goal is not met or exceeded, then it was a failure.

Example: A Protagonist asks the Narrator if they can sneak past a guard. The Narrator may ask the Protagonist to roll a Stealth+Acrobatics Check. This means the player would Roll a d10 and add the modifiers from both their stealth skill and acrobatics skill to the dice roll. The narrator will then compare that to the guard’s Awareness+Focus Check. This will be explained in greater detail in the Role-play Chapter.

Dice: The Dice you will need to play this game are a d4 (4-sided dice), a d6 (6-sided dice), a d8 (8-sided dice), and a d10 (10-sided dice).
